Glow

×

The flame’s gone out but embers keep glowing,
I want you to see though no good comes from knowing,
Distinguish what’s left and it sparks right back,
It’s burning my insides and I’m about to crack,
Maybe I should follow it after all I have learnt,
Knowing you, I will still get burnt,

So I ignore what’s there as if it never were,
Although on the inside I still think of her,
How did you do this? Attach a hook,
It gets pulled tighter with every look,
No matter how hard I try to let go,
The embers inside me continue to glow.
